About Third Day
Third Day was a Christian rock band formed in Marietta, Georgia, in 1991. The group was founded by lead singer Mac Powell and guitarist Mark Lee. The band's name refers to the biblical accounts of the resurrection of Jesus on the third day following his crucifixion.
Over the course of their career, Third Day released 14 studio albums. Their early releases included Contagious (1994), followed by Third Day (1996), Conspiracy No. 5 (1997), Time (1999), and Offerings: A Worship Album (2000). Later albums included Come Together (2001), Wire (2004), and Lead Us Back: Songs of Worship (2015). The band achieved 31 number-one radio singles.
Third Day’s accolades included 4 Grammy Awards, 24 GMA Dove Awards, and an American Music Award. The group was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in 2009.
The band announced a farewell tour in 2018 and later reunited for a 30th-anniversary tour in 2025–2026.
