The genesis of Worship For Everyone was the album Big Family of God (2008) by Nick & Becky Drake. Born out of the local church need for songs that carried ‘adult’ worship values (adoration, encounter, transformation) but united all ages in praise.
A second collection of songs came in 2010 (God Is Here) but it was UNIQUE in 2012 that established the Worship for Everyone vision and direction.
Since then Nick & Becky have been busy writing, speaking and leading worship at events including Spring Harvest, New Wine and Worship Central as well as in the local church. They have brought in seasoned multi-generational practitioners such as Lynn Alexander, Rachel Turner, and Matt Harding to further the community and launch the Worship For Everyone conferences.
Nick was Director of Worship and Associate Pastor at St Paul’s Hammersmith before recently moving to St Luke’s Gas Street Birmingham where he is also doing doctoral research on the theology of charismatic worship. He is the author of A Deeper Note: the informal theology of sung worship (Grove Books) and teaches on worship at Worship Central Academy and St Mellitus College.
Becky was a worship leader and songwriter at St Paul’s Hammersmith for many years before relocating with Nick to Birmingham. She was lead singer in ‘Coastal Dune’, before becoming a Director of Communications in London. She is currently a full time mum to 4: Daisy, Joel, Noah and Levi whilst snatching time to songwrite in between!
