Maxine Duncan

Maxine Duncan is a gospel artist and evangelist whose musical journey began at age nine in Jamaica. She grew up singing in the church, and after moving to the United States, she briefly performed with the gospel group Prophecy Sons of God. Her ministry focuses on proclaiming the word of God through song, and she has been recognized by several gospel radio and award organizations for her contributions to the genre.

Duncan’s catalog includes songs such as “I Am Committed (to Jesus),” “The Promise,” “Holy,” “God Turned It Around,” “Greatest Love and Friend (Jesus),” “My Love For Jesus,” and “Glory and Honor.” She also released an album titled Christian Battalion.

Over the years, Duncan has received multiple honors. In 2000, she earned Gil and Pat Bailey’s Certificate of Achievement. She went on to receive Gil and Pat Bailey’s Best Female Gospel Artist in both 2008 and 2009. In 2009 she was given the Hopeton Lewis Award for Female Artist of the Year, and in 2010 Love Gospel Radio presented her with the Bishop Baker Award for Female Entertainer of the Year. In 2011 she won the Hopeton Lewis Awards for both Album and Song of the Year for “I Am Committed (to Jesus).”
