Hesler

Jonathan and Melissa Helser, often found in searches under the misspelling “Hesler,” are a husband-and-wife worship duo who have been part of the Bethel Music collective since 2014. Based in North Carolina, they lead an artist collective called Cageless Birds. Their music in the Christian worship genre frequently focuses on themes of sonship and the love of God.

The couple has recorded several projects, including the albums Beautiful Surrender and We Rise We Bow. Their catalog includes songs such as “Abba,” “You Came (Lazarus),” and “I Believe.” Two of their best-known recordings are “Raise a Hallelujah,” which reached number one on Christian Billboard charts, and “No Longer Slaves,” which won Worship Song of the Year at the 47th Annual GMA Dove Awards in 2016.

Through their work with Bethel Music and the Cageless Birds community, Jonathan and Melissa Helser have contributed to the contemporary worship landscape with songs that have been sung in congregations around the world.
