About Tommy Walker
Tommy Walker is an American worship leader, singer/songwriter, author, and speaker who has served as a worship leader at Christian Assembly in Los Angeles, California, since 1990. He graduated from Christ for the Nations Bible Institute with an associate’s degree in Practical Theology and also holds a degree in Jazz-fusion Guitar from the Musicians Institute. His educational background in both theology and music has shaped a ministry that blends heartfelt worship with musical excellence.
Walker has written hundreds of songs that are tracked by CCLI and used in churches around the world. Among his well-known compositions are “He Knows My Name,” “That’s Why We Praise Him,” “Only A God Like You,” “Mourning into Dancing,” “I Have A Hope,” and “We Will Remember.” He has recorded music for Maranatha! Music, Integrity Music, and LifeWay Worship, and released albums including Never Gonna Stop and Make It Glorious. Never Gonna Stop peaked at number 153 on the Billboard Top 200 chart.
In addition to his songwriting and recording career, Walker founded the non-profit organization Tommy Walker Ministries in 2015 to provide free worship resources. He has been recognized with an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Life Pacific College in 2013 and an honorary Doctorate in Music Arts from Shepherd University in 2012. He was also nominated for a Dove Award for the album Great and Marvelous – Celebrating the songs of Tommy Walker, Volume 2. Walker and his wife, Robin, have four children.
