About The Martins
The Martins are a Southern gospel vocal trio composed of three siblings: Joyce Martin Sanders, Jonathan Martin, and Judy Martin Hess. The group originated from Hamburg, Arkansas. They were discovered by Michael English and Mark Lowry, which led to an audition for Bill and Gloria Gaither. The trio became known through their participation in the Gaither Homecoming video and concert series.
The group released a series of albums, beginning with From Arkansas With Love in 1990, followed by Wherever You Are (1996), Light Of The World (1997), and Above It All (2003). They have performed at venues including the Grand Ole Opry, Carnegie Hall, and the White House. Their career accolades include eight Dove Awards from the Gospel Music Association, three Grammy nominations, and five number one radio singles.
After an active period from 1990 to 2003, the group took a hiatus for family and individual pursuits before reuniting in 2010. Subsequent releases include New Day (2011), The Martins A Cappella (2014), Still Standing (2018), and This Is The Time I Must Sing (2025).
