About Hezekiah Walker
Hezekiah Walker is a gospel music artist, choir leader, and ordained bishop who serves as the senior pastor of Love Fellowship Tabernacle. He was born Hezekiah Xzavier Walker Jr. on December 24, 1962, in Brooklyn, New York. His career has been marked by dual roles in ministry and music, beginning when he formed the Love Fellowship Crusade Choir in 1985.
Walker studied Sociology at Long Island University and also attended the Hugee Theological Institute and the New York School of the Bible. He was ordained as a bishop in the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith in 2008, and in 2010 he became the Presiding Prelate of the Pentecostal Churches of Jesus Christ. He is the founder and senior pastor of Love Fellowship Tabernacle, with locations in Brooklyn, New York, and Bensalem, Pennsylvania.
Walker’s music catalog includes albums such as I’ll Make It (1987), Focus on Glory (1992), Live in Toronto (1993), Live in Atlanta at Morehouse College (1994), Love Is Live! (2001), Souled Out (2008), and Azusa: The Next Generation (2013). His song “Every Praise,” released in 2013, became a defining work in contemporary gospel. In 2018, he launched a gospel choir label, HezHouse Entertainment.
Walker has received multiple honors for his music. He won Grammy Awards for Best Gospel Album By Choir Or Chorus for Live in Atlanta at Morehouse College (1994) and Love Is Live! (2001). He also earned GMA Dove Awards for Contemporary Gospel/Urban Recorded Song of the Year for “Every Praise” (2014) and Traditional Gospel Recorded Song of the Year for “Better” (2016). In 2019, “Every Praise” was named Gospel Song of the Decade by Billboard, and in 2024 he was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.
