United Pursuit is an American contemporary worship music collective founded in 2006 in Knoxville, Tennessee. The group originated from a community of friends who lived together in a house in downtown Knoxville, where they began writing and recording music together. Founding members include Will Reagan and Brock Human. Over the years, the collective has operated under various names, including United Pursuit Band and Will Reagan & United Pursuit.
The collective is known for its communal approach to music, often featuring various singers, songwriters, and instrumentalists. Their musical style incorporates elements of worship, folk rock, and indie folk. Since their formation, United Pursuit has released numerous live albums and EPs, beginning with their self-titled EP in 2008 and followed by Radiance in 2009. Their catalog includes songs such as “Set a Fire,” “Break Every Chain,” “Not in a Hurry,” “Lay It All Down,” and “Head to the Heart.”
The group’s 2015 album, Simple Gospel, was a breakthrough release that appeared on Billboard charts. It peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Christian Albums chart and No. 6 on the Independent Albums chart. Simple Gospel was also ranked No. 13 on Worship Leader’s Top 20 Albums of 2015 list. The album helped bring the collective’s music to a wider audience while staying rooted in the communal worship origins of their Knoxville beginnings.
