The Compassion Youth Choir

The Compassion Youth Choir is a global ensemble formed in 2021 through a collaboration between the Christian ministry Compassion International and Grammy-winning gospel artist Kirk Franklin. The choir brought together over 120 young people, ages 11 to 19, from countries served by Compassion International’s child development program.

Members were selected through a virtual audition and rehearsal process. During the project, Kirk Franklin provided vocal coaching and mentorship to the choir members. The choir was created to participate in a re-release of Franklin’s song “Lean on Me,” which became “Lean on Me (Worldwide Mix).” Proceeds from the release were designated to support the ministry of Compassion International.
