About Ron Kenoly
Ron Kenoly (1944–2026) was an American Christian worship leader, singer, and songwriter who became a prominent voice in the contemporary praise and worship movement. Before entering full-time ministry, Kenoly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1965 to 1968, performing with a band called The Mellow Fellows, and later recorded secular R&B music under the name Ron Keith.
Kenoly began working in full-time ministry in 1985 as a worship leader at Jubilee Christian Center in San Jose, California. He was ordained as a music pastor in 1987 and later served as the Ambassador of Music for the church. He also held a Doctorate of Ministry degree in sacred music from Friends International Christian University.
For much of his recording career, Kenoly was signed to Integrity Music, releasing a series of live praise and worship albums that included Jesus Is Alive (1991), Lift Him Up (1992), God Is Able (1994), Sing Out with One Voice (1995), Welcome Home (1996), Majesty (1998), We Offer Praises (1999), and Dwell in the House (2001). Lift Him Up was noted as a significant commercial success in the worship music genre, and Welcome Home won a Gospel Music Association Dove Award for Praise and Worship Album in 1997. Lift Him Up also received an Angel Award in 1993.
In 1999, Kenoly relocated to central Florida, where he continued to travel, speak, sing, and record. His career reflected a journey from secular music to a focused ministry of leading congregations in worship.
