Meaning & Inspiration
“I See the Lord” by Ron Kenoly is a worship song that takes its vision from Isaiah 6. The opening lines repeat “I see the Lord,” picturing Him exalted high upon the worship of the people of the earth. The singer then says his eyes have seen the King, the Lamb upon the throne, who reigns forevermore.
The second part borrows closely from the throne-room scene: “The train of His robe fills the temple,” a phrase close to Isaiah 6:1. A cloud of heavenly worshipers surrounds the throne, and the congregation joins them in crying “Holy, holy is the Lamb.” That pairing of Isaiah’s vision with the Lamb recalls Revelation 5, where the Lamb is worshiped in heaven.
