Ron Kenoly - Be Glorified Lyrics

“Be Glorified” by Ron Kenoly is a short worship chant that asks for God to be honored everywhere. The opening repeats “Be glorified,” and then names places: in the heavens, in the earth, and in this temple. The lines widen the request from the whole creation down to the place where the congregation is gathered.

That pattern is close to Psalm 57:5, which asks God to be exalted above the heavens and His glory to be over all the earth, and to Psalm 29:2 on giving the Lord the glory due His name. The middle lines call on Jesus by name, “Be thou glorified,” keeping the prayer centered on Christ.

The second half switches the words to “Worship the Lord,” using the same three places. The song is repetitive by design, so a congregation can learn it quickly and keep it going as a sustained act of worship.
