Lyrics
Chorus
You are the love of my life
You are the hope that I cling to
You mean, more than this world to me
I wouldn't trade you for silver or gold
I wouldn't trade you for riches untold.
Verse
You are , you are my everything
I wouldn't take one step without you
I could never go on.
I couldn't live one day without you.
I don't have the strength
To make it on my own
Chorus (Repeat)
Until the world stops turning
Until the stars fade from the sky
Until the sun stops rising
I need you in my life and here's the reason why!

Meaning & Inspiration
“You Are” by Ron Kenoly is a song of devotion built on a series of plain declarations. The chorus names Jesus as “the love of my life” and “the hope that I cling to,” and it states that nothing the world values could replace Him: “I wouldn't trade you for silver or gold… riches untold.” The comparison is close to Proverbs 3:13-15 and Psalm 19:10, which value wisdom and God’s word above gold.
The verse moves from affection to dependence. “I wouldn't take one step without you” and “I don't have the strength to make it on my own” admit that the singer cannot continue alone, a thought close to John 15:5, where Jesus says that apart from Him nothing can be done.
The closing lines set that need against time itself: “Until the world stops turning, until the stars fade from the sky, until the sun stops rising, I need you in my life.” The song’s message is lasting reliance on Christ, stated simply and repeated as a vow.
