About Maryanne J. George

Maryanne J. George was born on October 8, 1992, in Queens, New York. She is a singer, songwriter, and musician of Malayalee origin. She learned to play the violin at age four and later taught herself piano and guitar. She served as a worship director at Cornerstone Church in Hicksville, New York. She also holds a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is a board-certified counselor. A former member of the Maverick City Music collective, Maryanne is a Grammy Award-winning artist and a recipient of multiple Stellar Awards and a BMI award.

Maryanne made her solo debut in 2021 with the EP Not Just Stories. The project debuted at number 12 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums Chart and number 3 on the Top Gospel Albums Chart. In 2024 she released the single “Labor.” Her other songs include “Prayer,” “Journey” featuring Mitch Wong, “You Have My Yes” featuring Naomi Raine, “I’m Gonna Worship” featuring Dante Bowe, “Altar” featuring Justus Tams, and “Be Glorified (Spontaneous)” featuring Justus Tams.

Maryanne currently resides in Dallas, Texas. Her background as a board-certified mental health counselor and her years leading worship have shaped her songwriting and her approach to ministry.
