About Planetshakers
Planetshakers is a contemporary Christian worship band that began in 1997 for the first Planetshakers Conference in Adelaide, South Australia. The group is based in Melbourne, Australia, where it operates as a central part of Planetshakers Church, a ministry led by senior pastors Russell and Samantha Evans. The band’s musical style blends rock and pop with contemporary worship, a sound that has shaped their more than thirty album releases.
Over the years, Planetshakers has built a notable discography that includes When the Planet Rocked (2000), Open Up the Gates (2002), Endless Praise (2014), Outback Worship Sessions (2015), Overflow (2016), Heaven on Earth (2018), and Winning Team (2024). They also released a Spanish-language album, Nada Es Imposible (2014), which reached No. 17 on the Billboard Latin Pop Albums chart.
The band’s work has drawn multiple GMA Dove Award nominations. Open Up the Gates was nominated for Worship Album of the Year in 2002, while Endless Praise, This is Our Time, Let’s Go, and Overflow each received nominations for Long Form Video of the Year in 2014, 2015, and 2016. From 2002 to 2005, vocalist and worship leader Guy Sebastian was a member of the group.
Planetshakers tours internationally, performing in the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, South Africa, Asia, South America, and New Zealand. The band continues to release new music and lead worship as part of the ongoing ministry of Planetshakers Church.
