About The Worship Initiative
The Worship Initiative is a Dallas, Texas-based collective of worship leaders, musicians, songwriters, and theologians, founded in 2014 by the Christian music duo Shane & Shane (Shane Barnard and Shane Everett). The organization began as an online equipping resource for worship leaders and church teams, offering chord charts, music training videos, and Bible study devotionals. It aims to help the Church worship with music that is both scripturally sound and artistically compelling.
The initiative operates as a community that provides resources for practical musicianship, theological depth, and leadership development. The collective has released numerous albums, including both cover versions of popular worship songs and original music. Notable releases include Psalms From The Well and The Worship Initiative Vol. 17. Its catalog features songs such as “O Come All Ye Faithful (His Name Shall Be),” “Save Me (Psalm 3),” “Revive Us Again (Psalm 44),” “Steadfast Love (Psalm 33),” “Satisfied (Psalm 63),” and “Only Christ.”
The Worship Initiative debuted and peaked at No. 14 on the Billboard Christian Albums chart in May 2015. In 2023, the organization launched the Worship Initiative Residency, a songwriting workshop program. The collective includes various resident artists and contributors, among them Davy Flowers and Bethany Barnard.
