Patti Drennan

Patti Drennan is an American composer, arranger, conductor, and music educator with a long career in both public school teaching and church music ministry. She earned a Bachelor of Music Education from Oklahoma State University and a Master of Music Education from the University of Oklahoma. For 28 years, Drennan taught choral music in the public schools of Norman, Oklahoma. In 2004, she received the Director of Distinction award from the Oklahoma Choral Directors Association.

Following her teaching career, Drennan served as the Music and Worship Arts Director at First Baptist Church in Norman for nearly ten years. She currently serves as the Music Director at NorthHaven Church in Norman. Over the course of her career, she has composed and arranged nearly 900 choral octavos, published by companies including Hal Leonard and Shawnee Press. She is a voting member of The Recording Academy.

Drennan’s recorded works include Shelter in the Time of Storm (2007), A Mother Daughter Christmas (2023), Echoes of Grace (2024), and Requiem of Light (2025). Echoes of Grace reached number one on the Billboard Traditional Classical chart. A Mother Daughter Christmas won the IMEA Holiday Album of the Year. In 2025, Requiem of Light was nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Choral Performance category. Drennan was also named a 2021 Cooperative Baptist Fellowship Honoree and received the 2022 Oklahoma State University College of Arts and Sciences Distinguished Alumni Award. She was married to her late husband, Jim Drennan, for 54 years.
