About Nathaniel Bassey
Nathaniel Bassey is a Nigerian gospel music minister, songwriter, trumpeter, and pastor. Born on August 27 in Lagos, Nigeria, and hailing from Akwa Ibom State, he studied International Relations and Politics at the University of Lagos before attending the Middlesex University Summer School in the United Kingdom for music courses. Before entering full-time gospel ministry, Bassey served as the band leader of the Steve Rhodes Jazz Orchestra and was a member of the Spectrum 4 jazz quintet.
Bassey serves as a pastor at The Oasis, the youth church of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), The King’s Court, in Lagos. He is also the convener of the “Hallelujah Challenge,” an online praise and prayer movement. He is married to Sarah Bassey, and they have children.
Bassey’s discography includes the albums Elohim (2008), Someone’s at the Door (2010), The Son of God (2014), This God is Too Good (2016), Revival Flames (2017), Jesus: The Resurrection and the Life (2018), The King Is Coming (2019), and Hallelujah Again (2021). In 2017, he received the City People Music Award for Gospel Artiste of the Year and the Best Gospel Artist award at the Africa Muzik Magazine Awards & Music Festival (AFRIMMA).
