Nathaniel Bassey - All Power Lyrics

“All Power” by Nathaniel Bassey is a chant-like declaration built on one line, “All power belongs to you alone.” Between the repeats comes a second line that is nearly a direct quote of Psalm 62:11: “Once you have spoken, twice I have heard,” followed by “when you have spoken, it surely comes to pass.” That psalm says God has spoken once and that the psalmist heard twice that power belongs to God, and the second line is close to Isaiah 55:11 on His word accomplishing what He sends it to do.

The interlude drops the words for a repeated “Heya hey” chant, which gives a congregation a part to sing and lets the claim settle. After that, the opening line returns several times without commentary.

With so little text, the song works as a declaration or a prayer of surrender. Its message is that authority belongs to God alone and that what He says stands. It also echoes Matthew 28:18, where Jesus says all authority has been given to Him.
