Lyrics
Chorus
You are good, You are good
All the time
You are good, You are good
All the time
Verse 1
I am not the same
You have changed my name
You call me your beloveth
No longer ashamed
You’ve taken all the blame
So I can live in freedom
I’m grateful for your grace
Now I sing your praise
Feels like I am dreaming
See what you have done
Look who you have saved
Bridge
Now I’m a sign and wonder
Chorus (Repeat)
You are good, You are good
All the time
Forever and ever
Forever and ever
Chorus (Repeat)
You are good, You are good
All the time
Forever and ever

Meaning & Inspiration
“You Are Good” by Nathaniel Bassey and Greatman Takit is a Nigerian worship song of thanksgiving built on one refrain, “You are good all the time.” The verse is a testimony of change: the singer is not the same, God has changed the name, and he is called “beloveth.”
The next lines say he is no longer ashamed because God took the blame, so he can live in freedom. That is close to Romans 8:1 and Isaiah 61:7 on shame replaced by joy. The singer is grateful for grace and sings praise, with the words “Feels like I am dreaming, see what you have done, look who you have saved.”
The line “Now I’m a sign and wonder” echoes Isaiah 8:18 and Psalm 71:7. The song ends with “forever and ever.” It is a simple, repeated testimony of gratitude for a changed life.
