About Limoblaze
Limoblaze is the stage name of Samuel Onwubiko, a Nigerian-born singer-songwriter and rapper who identifies his musical style as “Afro-Gospel,” a fusion of Afrobeats and hip-hop. He was born on October 25, 1995, in Abia State, Nigeria, and raised in Makurdi, Benue State. He studied Biochemistry at the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, and began his professional music career while attending Day Star Church. Limoblaze currently resides in the United Kingdom.
He released the album Blind in 2016, followed by Before Now (2018), Afrobeats Raps & Jesus (2019), Bridges (2020), and God’s Favourite Baby (2021). In 2022, he released the single “Jireh (My Provider),” which charted on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart. Later albums include Sunday in Lagos (2023) and Young & Chosen (2024).
In 2022, Limoblaze signed with the Christian hip-hop label Reach Records, becoming the first artist based outside of the United States to join the label. His work has been recognized with several awards, including Best International Act at the Premier Gospel Awards (2019), Afro Rap Artiste of Excellence at the African Gospel Music and Media Awards (2019), and Best Gospel Act at the MOBO Awards (2024).
