Vineyard Anaheim

Vineyard Anaheim, a congregation that became a central hub for the Vineyard movement's worship music, was founded in 1977 in Southern California by John Wimber. Wimber, a former jazz producer, shaped the church's early songwriting with its emphasis on emotional language and simplicity. This approach defined the worship style that emerged from Anaheim.

The church's worship style is characterized by its focus on intimate praise and the "signs and wonders" theology of the Vineyard movement. Its music ministry eventually led to the formation of Vineyard Music, a label and publishing house for worship music. Early live recordings from the congregation include We Welcome You (1983) and Changed By Your Glory (1989).

The church launched the Touching the Father's Heart series in 1989 and the Winds of Worship series in 1993. Later releases include Just Like Heaven (2003) and Returning (2020). In 2022, the congregation officially left the Vineyard USA association and was renamed The Dwelling Place.
