TuneDem Band

TuneDem Band is a gospel reggae group based in Nairobi, Kenya, formed in 2005 by Kepha Charles. The name “TuneDem” comes from the phrase “tune them,” reflecting a prayer to align listeners with the spirit of God. The band blends roots rock reggae music with Christian ministry and evangelism, using their sound as a vehicle for worship and outreach.

Kepha Charles, the founder, grew up in Kibera, one of Nairobi’s largest informal settlements. His background informs the band’s broader mission, which extends beyond music through the TuneDem Foundation. The foundation engages in humanitarian efforts such as feeding and clothing needy families and prison ministry, connecting the group’s artistic work with tangible community support.

Over the years, TuneDem Band has built a catalog of songs including “Mungu Wa Ajabu,” “Yes & Amen,” “Foundation,” “Weeping,” “God Is Good,” and “Worthy.” They have also collaborated with international artists, notably recording “The Least of These” with Christafari. The band continues to create music rooted in their faith and their commitment to serving others in Kenya and beyond.
