Claudelle Clarke

Claudelle Clarke is a Jamaican-born singer-songwriter known as "The Queen of Reggae Gospel." She began singing in the Sunday School Choir of the New Testament Church of God in Yallahs, St. Thomas, Jamaica. At age ten, she recorded her first single, "Seven Days Make One Week," on the Treasure Isle label. Early in her career, she worked at Studio One alongside artists including Bob and Rita Marley, Peter Tosh, and Alton Ellis.

Clarke later transitioned to performing gospel music exclusively. Her recorded catalog includes the albums How Great Is Our God (1973), God Is A Mountain (1979), I Got Confidence (1981), The Christian Journey (1983), Reggae Songs of Praise (1998), The Prayer (1999), and The Journey (2009).

On May 4, 2008, she was inducted into the International Reggae and World Music Awards Hall of Fame. She currently resides in Georgia, United States.
