Patrick Dopson

Patrick Dopson is a gospel musician, songwriter, and worship leader. He was born Patrick DeWayne Dopson on August 24, 1978, in Montgomery, Alabama.

Dopson has served as a worship leader and pastor at various ministries, including Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas, Texas. In 2003, he founded his own record label, Oilonit Music. He also contributed as a writer and singer on Fred Hammond’s Grammy Award-winning album Free to Worship.

In 2012, Dopson released the album Open the Heavens. That same year, the single “Keep Me” reached No. 7 on the Billboard Hot Gospel Songs chart and was featured on the WOW Gospel 2013 compilation. In 2014, his single “God Is” peaked at No. 14 on the same chart. The album Open the Heavens reached No. 23 on the Billboard Gospel Albums chart and No. 46 on the Heatseeker Albums chart. In 2022, he released the single “There Is a Name.”

Dopson faced a diagnosis of kidney cancer in 2015 and overcame it. He is married to Christina Dopson, and they have children.
