About Chris McClarney
Chris McClarney is a worship leader, songwriter, and recording artist in contemporary Christian music. Born Christopher Andrew McClarney on November 30, 1979, he is the son of a youth pastor and grew up moving frequently throughout the southeastern United States before settling in Nashville, Tennessee. He began leading worship for a small group at age fourteen.
His professional music career started in 2006, and he released his first independent album, Love Never Fails, in 2008. Subsequent releases include the EP Introducing Chris McClarney (2010), the album Defender (2010), Everything and Nothing Less (2015), Breakthrough (2018), and the EP Speak to the Mountains (2021). In 2024 he released the single “Empty.” McClarney has been a longtime artist with the Jesus Culture music label and also co-founded the independent label Real Fun Records with Jesse Phillips.
Beyond his recording work, McClarney has served as a worship pastor at Church of the City in Franklin, Tennessee. His song “Your Love Never Fails” has been reported in the Top 25 of CCLI and, as recorded by the Newsboys, reached number one on the Billboard Christian Chart, extending the reach of his songwriting in modern worship music.
