About Highlands Worship
Highlands Worship is the official worship ministry of Church of the Highlands, a multi-site church based in Birmingham, Alabama, founded by Pastor Chris Hodges in 2001. The group is a collective of pastors, musicians, worship leaders, and songwriters who lead worship across the church’s multiple campuses. Their mission has been to create worship resources and songs for both the local church and global worship leaders.
The group’s recorded output began with the album Place of Freedom in 2012, followed by My King Is Here in 2013 and Here I Surrender in 2016. Their 2019 album Jesus You Alone reached No. 1 on the SoundScan Praise and Worship chart, marking a significant milestone for the team. That same year they released Shine Heaven’s Light: A Christmas EP, expanding their catalog with seasonal music.
Highlands Worship continued to release new material through the early 2020s, including the EP This Is Jesus in 2021 and the single Christ Is Born in 2022. In 2023, they released Already Won (Live at MOTION 2022), capturing a worship gathering from the church’s youth conference. Throughout their history, the ministry has produced both live recordings and studio projects, serving as a creative outlet for the large roster of musicians and vocalists who help lead worship each week at Church of the Highlands.
