Gil Joe

Gil Joe, a Nigerian Afro-Gospel artist, is the stage name of Gilbert Joseph. He began his music career after converting to Christianity in 2009. At age 17, he started producing music while working as a personal assistant to gospel producer A4jeazy. In December 2013, Gil Joe joined the Rocketown Records movement, which was founded by gospel artist Frank Edwards.

His music style incorporates elements of Afrobeat, trap, and rap, and he is recognized as a pioneer of the Afro-Gospel genre. Among his notable releases is the album Maturity. He also released the album The Lord's Summer. His catalog includes the songs "Elshadai" featuring Frank Edwards, "Shackles" with Nkay, "Superstar Remix," "Thanksgiving," "Rain" featuring Frank Edwards, and "Ryde."

Gil Joe has headlined events such as the Afro Gospel Fest, further establishing his presence in the gospel music scene. His early mentorship under A4jeazy and his association with Rocketown Records shaped his development as an artist in the Afro-Gospel space.
