The Greenes

The Greenes were a Southern gospel trio formed in Boone, North Carolina, in 1978 or 1979. The group was founded by Everette Ralph Greene, who accompanied his children on the piano. The original members included siblings Tim, Tony, and Kim Greene. The family-based group toured extensively, performing at churches and various venues throughout their decades-long career.

Kim Greene left the trio in 1989 after marrying Dean Hopper of The Hoppers. Following her departure, the group featured various sopranos over the years, including Amy Lambert, Milena Parks, and TaRanda Kiser. Despite the personnel changes, The Greenes continued their ministry.

Founder Everette Ralph Greene passed away in 2004, and Tony Greene passed away in 2010. The group remained active until 2020. Among the songs that appeared in The Greenes’ catalog are “When I Knelt The Blood Fell,” “Gloryland,” “Hold On,” “The Blood Covered It All,” “One More Mountain,” and “Glorious City of God.” The group also released albums such as God Is a Good God and Hallelujah.
