About Tim Hughes
Tim Hughes, born Timothy David Llewelyn Hughes on July 23, 1977, is a British worship leader, singer, songwriter, and an ordained Anglican priest. He began his music career in 1997 leading worship at Soul Survivor festivals, and over time his songs became part of the fabric of contemporary Christian worship worldwide. His catalog includes “Here I Am to Worship,” “Happy Day,” “Beautiful One,” “Jesus Saves,” “At Your Name,” and “The Way.” His debut album, Here I Am to Worship, was released in 2001, followed by Pocketful of Faith in 2015.
Hughes served as the Worship Pastor at Soul Survivor Watford Church and later as the Director of Worship at Holy Trinity Brompton in London. He also founded Worship Central, an international worship training and resource center. In 2015, he became the priest-in-charge of St Luke’s, Gas Street, in Birmingham, blending his pastoral calling with his musical gifts.
His song “Here I Am to Worship” was recognized with two GMA Dove Awards—Inspirational Recorded Song of the Year in 2003 and Worship Song of the Year in 2004. In 2017, he received the Thomas Cranmer Award for Worship from the Archbishop of Canterbury, and in 2020 he was honored with the Prime Minister’s Points of Light Award for coordinating “The UK Blessing.”
Hughes is married to Rachel, and together they have four children. His career continues to reflect a commitment to both congregational worship and local church ministry.
