Martha Reed

Martha Reed Garvin is a professional musician and the host of the radio and television program Musical Memories, which features traditional gospel music and hymns. She has worked as a professional musician for over 50 years. A graduate of Olivet Nazarene University, she is a former member of the Olivet Nazarene University Orpheus Choir.

Garvin’s professional work has included performing for conventions, weddings, and memorial services in the Chicago area. Her repertoire is rooted in classic hymns and traditional gospel songs, which she continues to share through her Musical Memories ministry.

Her recorded hymn performances include “On Zion’s Hill,” “Jesus and Me,” “He Abides,” “It’s Real,” “Higher Ground,” “He Helps Us Through,” and “I’ve Discovered the Way of Gladness.” Through her long career and media work, Garvin has remained dedicated to preserving and performing the hymns and gospel music that have shaped her life.
