About The Psalm Project
The Psalm Project is a Dutch worship band founded by pianist and composer Eelco Vos. The group’s primary mission is to create contemporary musical settings of the ancient biblical Psalms, specifically drawing from the 16th-century Genevan Psalter. Their work focuses on making these historical psalm melodies accessible to modern congregations through new arrangements.
To achieve this, The Psalm Project incorporates modern instrumentation such as piano, guitar, and strings into their recordings and performances. Their approach aims to encourage congregational singing and revive the use of the Psalms in worship. The band has performed at events including the Calvin Symposium on Worship.
The Psalm Project has released several albums, including Psalms Unplugged, Kyrie, Ik Roep Tot U, and Psalmen 2e druk. They have also issued the singles “Benediction” and “Hallelujah.” Through these recordings, the group continues to offer fresh musical settings of the Genevan Psalter for contemporary worship settings.
