KJ-52 is the stage name of Jonah Kirsten Sorrentino, an American Christian hip-hop artist born on June 26, 1975, in Tampa, Florida. He entered the music scene in the late 1990s. The name "KJ-52" combines his initials from his former alias "King J. Mac" with a reference to the biblical story of Jesus feeding the multitude with five loaves and two fish.
Sorrentino released several albums over the years, beginning with 7th Avenue in 2000 and followed by Collaborations (2002), It's Pronounced Five Two (2003), Behind the Musik (A Boy Named Jonah) (2005), The Yearbook (2007), and Five-Two Television (2009). His catalog also includes the songs "Dear Slim" and "Do Yo Thang."
His work received recognition from the Gospel Music Association, winning multiple GMA Dove Awards. He won Rap/Hip Hop Album of the Year for It's Pronounced Five Two (2004), Behind the Musik (A Boy Named Jonah) (2006), Remixed (2007), The Yearbook (2008), and Five-Two Television (2010). Additionally, his song "Never Look Away" won Rap/Hip Hop Recorded Song of the Year in 2007.
