About Nichole Nordeman
Nichole Nordeman is a contemporary Christian singer and songwriter who has been a notable presence in the Christian music industry. She was born on January 3, 1972, in Dallas, Texas, and grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she began playing piano in church. Her music career took shape after she entered and won a Gospel Music Association (GMA) contest in Los Angeles.
Nordeman released her first album, Wide Eyed, in 1998, followed by This Mystery (2000), Woven & Spun (2002), and Brave (2005). Over her career, she sold more than one million records. Her songwriting earned her four GMA Dove Awards in 2003, including Female Vocalist of the Year, Song of the Year, and Songwriter of the Year. She went on to win a total of nine GMA Dove Awards.
In addition to recording her own albums, Nordeman wrote 17 songs for the 2011 concept album Music Inspired by The Story. She also contributed as an editorial columnist for CCM Magazine from 2006 to 2007, writing a column titled "Loose Ends . . . Confessions of an Unfinished Faith." Among her well-known songs are "Holy," "Legacy," and "What If." Her later album The Unmaking was released in 2015. Nordeman has also lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
