About Maranda Curtis

Maranda Curtis is a gospel singer and worship leader known for her chart-topping releases and her emphasis on what she calls “responsible worship.” She was born on August 4, 1979, in Miami, Florida, to Pastor W.S. Curtis and Darlene Curtis. Her musical foundation was laid early, and she went on to serve as a worship leader at New Life City of Praise Church and House of Hope Atlanta before moving to The Potter’s House in Dallas, Texas, beginning in 2016. In 2015, she started teaching the concept of “responsible worship,” a framework that has become a hallmark of her ministry.

Curtis first released the single “Don’t Take Your Love Away” in 2012. Her debut EP, The Maranda Experience, Vol. 1, arrived in 2017 and debuted at number one on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart. She followed that success with the live album Open Heaven: The Maranda Experience in 2018, which also reached the top of the same chart. That same year, she released the single “Nobody Like You Lord” and a holiday project titled Maranda Presents a Holy Christmas.

In 2020, Curtis received the BMI Trailblazers of Gospel Music Award for “Nobody Like You Lord,” which was recognized as one of the top twenty most-performed gospel songs in the United States. She released the album Die to Live in 2022 and followed it with Worship Restored in 2025. Curtis is also an honorary member of the Sigma Gamma Rho sorority.
