About Anointed
Anointed is a contemporary Christian and gospel duo from Columbus, Ohio, whose work in the 1990s and 2000s blended gospel, R&B, pop, rock, and funk. The group was formed in 1988 as a quartet featuring siblings Steve Crawford and Da’dra Crawford Greathouse, along with Nee-C Walls and Mary Tiller. Over time, the group transitioned into a duo consisting of Steve and Da’dra, who have also served on the worship team at Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas.
Anointed released their debut album, Spiritual Love Affair, in 1993. Their 1995 album, The Call, is noted as one of their best-selling releases. The group continued to release music throughout the decade and beyond, including Under the Influence (1996), Anointed (1999), If We Pray (2001), and Now Is The Time (2005).
Over the course of their career, Anointed received seven Dove Awards and two Stellar Awards, and earned three Grammy Award nominations. Their evolution from a Columbus-based quartet to a sibling duo marked a significant presence in contemporary Christian and gospel music during the 1990s.
