About Shonlock
Shonlock, born Deshon Terrell Bullock on May 28, 1975, in Chicago, Illinois, is a Christian hip-hop and urban contemporary artist whose career began in secular dance and choreography. He worked with major acts such as Aaliyah and Arrested Development before making a faith-based transition. After recommitting his life to Christ in the early 2000s, he joined TobyMac’s Diverse City Band in 2001, serving as a performer, choreographer, and vocalist.
Launching his solo career around 2010, Shonlock adopted his stage name and developed a musical style that fuses hip-hop, pop, rock, and R&B. He began releasing music with the EP Magnanimous in 2002, followed by the EP Where Never Begins in 2010. His first full-length album, Never Odd or Even, arrived in 2011, and its single “Something in Your Eyes” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Christian CHR chart.
Shonlock continued to release albums, including A Night to Remember in 2014, Follow Me in 2017, and AWESOME in 2019. He has toured internationally with his backing band, Shonlock and the Monsta, bringing his blend of energetic performance and faith-driven lyrics to audiences worldwide.
