About Rivers & Robots
Rivers & Robots is an indie worship band based in Manchester, England, founded by Jonathan Ogden in 2010 as a solo bedroom-recording project. The name was chosen to reflect the group’s combined use of acoustic instrumentation (“rivers”) and electronic elements (“robots”). What began as a personal creative outlet soon grew: in 2012 the project expanded into a full live band.
The group’s members have also served as missionaries, leading worship in churches and at festivals. Beyond their music, they operate a non-profit organization called Set Sail, created to support creative worship and art. Rivers & Robots officially announced a hiatus in early 2021.
Their recorded catalog includes six full-length releases: The Great Light (2011), Take Everything (2012), All Things New (2014), The Eternal Son (2016), Still, Vol. 1 (2017), and Discovery (2018). Through their blend of organic and electronic sounds and their mission-focused approach, Rivers & Robots carved a distinctive place in independent worship music.
