Jesus Army

The Jesus Army was the outreach and evangelism identity of the Jesus Fellowship Church, a neocharismatic evangelical organization based in the United Kingdom. The Jesus Fellowship Church was founded in 1969 by Noel Stanton in Bugbrooke, Northamptonshire. Musical members of the church performed and recorded worship songs that were used in their outreach and community life.

The group’s musical style spanned various genres, including folk, country rock, and contemporary worship. Among their recorded releases are the album The Journey (2016) and Wild! (And We’re Christian) [Live] (1998). Their catalog includes songs such as “Thank You,” “His Blood Is Precious,” “More Like You,” “Take Me to the Edge,” and “A Song of Worship.”

The Jesus Fellowship Church announced in May 2019 that it would cease to exist. In later years, the organization was the subject of media coverage and documentaries that characterized it as a cult, with reports citing widespread abuse and coercive practices.
