About Bebo Norman

Bebo Norman is a retired contemporary Christian musician who built his career as an acoustic singer-songwriter. He was born Jeffery Stephen Norman on May 29, 1973, in Columbus, Georgia, and later graduated from Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina. Norman first gained popularity while touring with the Christian band Caedmon’s Call, and early in his career he was involved with Young Life Ministries, performing at their summer camps.

Norman released several albums, beginning with Ten Thousand Days in 1999, followed by Big Blue Sky (2001) and Myself When I Am Real (2002). His later album Lights of Distant Cities came out in 2012. Among his recorded songs are “Great Light of the World,” “Falling Down,” “I Will Lift My Eyes,” and “The Only Hope.”

His work earned two GMA Dove Awards. In 2003 he received the award for Special Event Album of the Year for City on a Hill: Sing Alleluia. In 2010 he won the Dove for Inspirational Recorded Song of the Year for “The Only Hope.” Norman’s fans are known as “Simpletons.” He is married to Roshare Finecey. In April 2013, he announced his retirement from the music industry.
