About Free Worship
Free Worship is a Christian worship band based in Chicago, Illinois, that ministers weekly at their home church, New Life Covenant, under the leadership of Pastor Wilfredo “Choco” De Jesus. The group’s name reflects their desire for people to experience freedom in their worship and to make room for the Holy Spirit. Active since at least 2015, the band operates with the belief that they were created to worship God and aims to remain invisible, pointing toward the Savior rather than drawing attention to themselves.
Free Worship has traveled both domestically and internationally to lead worship, and they also host leadership, songwriting, and worship tech workshops to equip others in ministry. The band records and releases music in both English and Spanish, serving a bilingual congregation and audience. Their catalog includes the albums Praise Before It Happens, My Soul Sings, For Your Glory, and Strong Enough. Individual songs include “Already Done,” “Bless Him Some More,” and “Milagroso - En Vivo,” as well as “Surrounded / Rodeado,” a collaboration with Marcos Witt.
Through their music and ministry, Free Worship continues to serve at New Life Covenant and beyond, creating space for worship that crosses language and cultural boundaries while keeping the focus on the gospel.
