Stacie Orrico began her career in the Contemporary Christian Music (CCM) industry before finding mainstream pop and R&B success. Born Stacie Joy Orrico on March 3, 1986, in Seattle, Washington, she was raised in a family of Christian missionaries and moved frequently during her childhood. Her musical journey started early when, at age twelve, she won a vocalist competition at the Estes Park Christian Artist Seminar in 1998. This recognition led her to sign with ForeFront Records, a label known for Christian music.

Her debut album, Genuine, was released in 2000 when she was fourteen years old. The album reached No. 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart, introducing her to a wide audience. Her second album, the self-titled Stacie Orrico (2003), was released through a partnership between ForeFront and Virgin Records. It featured the singles “Stuck” and “(There’s Gotta Be) More to Life” and was certified Gold by the RIAA.

Orrico’s work earned significant recognition in the Christian music industry. In 2004, she won three Dove Awards, including Female Vocalist of the Year. That same year, her self-titled album received a Grammy nomination in the Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album category. She also released the holiday EP Christmas Wish (2001) and later returned with the album Beautiful Awakening (2006) and the EP Reawakened (2014), continuing to build her catalog over the years.
