About Esther Wahome

Esther Wahome is a Kenyan gospel singer and minister who has been active in the gospel music industry for over two decades. She was discovered as a young singer in a church in Nyeri by a television producer. Her father, William Wahome, was a musician and served as her early inspiration. She attended Pangani Girls High School in Nairobi.

Wahome gained significant recognition for her song "Kuna Dawa," which earned her two 2004 Groove Awards: Female Artiste of the Year and Song of the Year. She repeated as Female Artiste of the Year at the 2005 Groove Awards. That same year, she won Best Contemporary Artiste – East Africa at the Kisima Awards, an honor she also received in 2006. Her song "Furahia" made history as the first track by a Kenyan artist to be featured on an international compilation CD titled Stars of Afro-pop.

Beyond her musical achievements, Wahome has been involved in ministry at the Gospel Outreach Church in Ruiru. She is a mother and has spoken publicly about her experiences raising a child with autism. Her catalog includes songs such as "Tutapaa," "Asali," "Minyororo," and "Tukutenderesa." Through her music and ministry, she has maintained a steady presence in East African gospel circles.
