Kathy Taylor

Kathy Yvonne Taylor (born May 6, 1961) is an American gospel musician, songwriter, and producer who has served in church ministry and gospel music for decades. She served as the Minister of Music at Windsor Village United Methodist Church in Houston for thirty-eight years before retiring in 2026. Taylor began her recording career as a soloist with James Cleveland’s Gospel Music Workshop of America and The Mass Choir. She later founded the singing ensemble Kathy Taylor and Favor.

Taylor’s recorded catalog includes the albums Taylormade (1999) and Live: The Worship Experience (2009), as well as He’s Worth. Her songs include “Oh How Precious,” “Corinthian Song,” and featured solos on “Anticipation,” “He Did It,” and “I Got My Joy Back.” Taylormade charted on the Billboard Gospel Albums chart and received a Stellar Award nomination. Live: The Worship Experience charted on the Billboard Gospel Albums chart, the Billboard 200, and the Independent Albums chart.

Beyond music, Taylor has been a community activist who founded the “RefresHer Experience” to support and empower women. She has performed for various national and world leaders, including Queen Elizabeth II and former President Bill Clinton. She was previously known professionally as Kathy Taylor-Brown.
