About The Browders
The Browders are a family-based Southern Gospel music group originating from Hiltons, Virginia. The group was formed by patriarch Tommy Browder in 1990 and today consists of Tommy Browder, his sons Matthew and David, and Matthew’s wife, Sonya. Each member is a multi-instrumentalist who plays live during their performances—Tommy on acoustic lead guitar, David on bass, Matthew on rhythm guitar, and Sonya on piano.
The group performs a mix of modern and classic Southern Gospel music and maintains a year-round schedule of concerts and revivals. Their recorded catalog includes the albums Time Machine and Authentic, as well as songs such as “You’re Not In This Alone,” “New Song,” “He Is Alive,” “Listening For the Shout,” “He Took the Nails,” and “Lift Up His Name.”
The Browders received early recognition when they were voted “Breakthrough Artist of the Year” at the Absolutely Gospel Music Awards in 2013. They later won “Music Video of the Year” at the same awards in 2016. Their album Time Machine produced seven number-one singles on the Singing News chart, further establishing their presence in Southern Gospel radio.
