About Big Daddy Weave
Big Daddy Weave is an American contemporary Christian band formed in 1998 at the University of Mobile in Alabama. The original lineup included Mike Weaver, Jay Weaver, Joe Shirk, Jeremy Redmon, and Jeff Jones. The band has remained committed to a ministry-focused approach, creating music rooted in themes of faith, redemption, and Jesus. Current members include Mike Weaver, Joe Shirk, Jeremy Redmon, Brian Beihl, and Raul Alfonso. The group has been signed to Curb Records since 2021, having previously recorded with Fervent Records.
The band’s discography includes the albums Neighborhoods (2001), One and Only (2002), Every Time I Breathe (2006), Love Come to Life (2012), Beautiful Offerings (2015), and When the Light Comes (2019). Their catalog features the songs “Redeemed” (2012) and “The Lion and the Lamb” (2015). “Redeemed” was certified Platinum by the RIAA and won “Song of the Year” at the 2013 K-LOVE Fan Awards. The band has also earned multiple No. 1 singles on Christian radio charts and received the Rich Mullins Artist Impact Award from Christian Music Broadcasters.
In 2019, frontman Mike Weaver released an autobiographical book titled I Am Redeemed. Founding member Jay Weaver passed away on January 2, 2022. Through decades of ministry and music, Big Daddy Weave has continued to share their message of redemption and hope.
