About The Great Commission
The Great Commission is a Christian hardcore and metalcore band that formed in 2007 in Riverside, California. The band was founded by Justin Singh and Angela Razo, and its name is drawn from the biblical directive found in Matthew 28:18–20. Throughout their active years, the group was noted for its Christian-themed lyrics and involvement in the Christian hardcore scene.
The band released their debut studio album, And Every Knee Shall Bow, in 2009 through Strike First Records. This was followed by a second full-length album, Heavy Worship, released in 2011 via Ain't No Grave Records. In between, the band also issued an EP titled Firework in 2012. The Great Commission self-released their final full-length album, Cast the First Stone, in 2013.
Songs from the band’s catalog include “Don’t Go to Church, Be the Church” and “Every Knee Shall Bow.” With a sound rooted in aggressive hardcore and metalcore, The Great Commission remained active in the Christian music sphere until their final release in 2013.
