Collin Damans

Collin Damans is a South African gospel singer, songwriter, and producer. He was raised in Pretoria, South Africa, and gained national prominence through his involvement with the gospel ensemble Joyous Celebration. He has also performed as a backing vocalist for Bishop Benjamin Dube and contributed to various gospel projects including Spirit of Praise and Mmuso Worship.

Damans is one half of the gospel duo Bongi & Collin, which he formed with his wife, Bongi Damans. The duo are also authors and composers. Together they released the album Makadunyiswe, which earned the Best Urban Gospel Album award at the South African Music Awards in 2010. Their following album, Live Again, won the Best RNB Gospel Award at the Crown Gospel Music Awards in 2013.

Among the songs in the duo’s catalog are “He Is Still God” and “Life Is Going On (Brenda Fassie 60th Tribute).” Damans also contributed as a composer on the track “Yahweh We Worship (Live)” by Spirit of Praise featuring Bongi Damans. Additional recordings include “Messiah” by Benjamin Dube featuring Collin Damans, as well as “Re Tshepile Jeso” and “Stand Still and See (Reprise)” from Mmuso Worship. Through his work as a performer, songwriter, and producer, Damans has been a consistent presence in South African gospel music.
