Melvin Crispell III

Melvin Crispell III is a gospel recording artist who won national attention through the BET competition Sunday Best and has since built a career as a Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, and producer. He was born in 1998 in Charlotte, North Carolina, to gospel organist Melvin Crispell Jr. and vocalist Tunesha Crispell, growing up steeped in church music.

Crispell rose to prominence after winning the ninth season of Sunday Best in 2019. He signed with RCA Inspiration following that victory and released his debut album, I’ve Got a Testimony, in 2020. His sophomore project, the live album No Failure, followed in 2023. Crispell also released the EP Covered Vol. 1 in 2024, as well as an earlier EP titled Prologue III. His catalog includes singles such as “Wonderful Is Your Name,” “God Is,” and “Alright.”

His work has earned recognition from the gospel music industry. As of 2025, Crispell has been nominated for four Grammy Awards. In 2024, he won two Stellar Awards, including Male Artist of the Year, and received one Dove Award. Through his recordings and live performances, he continues to share music rooted in his faith and personal testimony.
