About Rufftone
Roy Smith Mwatia, known by the stage name Rufftone, is a Kenyan gospel musician. He began his music career in the late 1990s performing secular music before converting to Christianity in 2001. Following his conversion, he devoted his work to gospel ministry and founded Lampstand Music Record.
Rufftone is the older brother of Kenyan gospel artist Daddy Owen. His recorded catalog includes songs such as "Mwikulu," "Mungu Baba," "Tsinyanga Tsiwere," "Meeh," "SimpleFace," "Sifa," "Buyanzi," and "When I Die."
Beyond music, Rufftone has served as a Goodwill Ambassador for Public Diplomacy of the Republic of Korea. He has also been involved in mentorship and charity work, and later pursued interests in politics in Kenya.
